Innerbeauty is overrated

You wake up and you go on campus. You watch everyone. They're all dressed up. Business suits, their I don't care outfit that shows that they do care a little bit, their make-up, their hair-gelled-hair. You imagine their life. They probably wake up 30 minutes to an hour earlier than you do. They take time to fix their hair, do their make-up, pick their outfit. They do this 7 times a week unless they have nowhere to go. It's an audition or a tryout but they don't know what they're trying out for, who they're trying to impress. But at the end of the day, they look in the mirror and take off all that nonsense and what's left is what they really look like. In fact, they only look like what they really look like 2% of the time. You, on the other hand, are dressed down. 13 years of private school uniforms has taught you that no one cares what you dress like from Monday to Friday. It only matters from Friday night to Sunday. 13 years of private school has also taught you that you don't have enough clothes for Monday-Friday when you transfer to a public school. So you're dressed down. You wear sweats, a T-shirt, and a sweatshirt Monday-Friday, five days a week, seven days a week if you don't have nowhere to go. But if you're lucky enough to have somewhere to go, you're dressed up. You translate to what you really look like: pearls, curls, cornrows, ascots, sports coats, tucked-in button-up dress shirts, Reebok classics, argyle socks, and the like. But you're dressed down because you don't have to tryout. You know what you look like and you know that you only look like that 2% of the time.
